Selecting an ISP is possibly the single most important factor in being able to view your cameras off site. The upload bandwidth is the most limiting factor in being able to view the streams. Obviously the amount of data you have available in a given month is the second biggest limiting factor.
The following are resources you can use for working out what ISP will suit you best. The first is broadband choice and when you enter your telephone number it will give you a list of available ISPs and their current plans (although it also helps to check out the ISPs websites too, just in case they haven’t updated the pricing yet). The second resource allows you to check the information about your closest exchange to see whether you have ADSL or ADSL2+ available to you. ADSL2+ is a much faster service and therefore a better choice. The last resource is the NBN Co’s rollout map. The NBN will provide most of Australia with a super fast fibre optic network capable of transferring much more data at a much faster speed than is capable with the old PSTN telephone network. This site will show you when the new infrastructure will be rolling past your premises
